ABOUT MADISON WOOLEN CO.
In 1881, the Madison Woolen Mill was opened in Madison, Maine along the Kennebec River. The mill was one of hundreds across America, breathing life into the country through domestic manufacturing.
During its glory days, the mill specialized in weaving flannels, meltons, and other various woolen cloth.
Though we are not a mill, we strive to keep that spirit alive through cultivating a collection of cloth sourced from around the world, namely Italy and England - fabric we believe remains true to the original company's DNA.
